The Oakes, Miss –  Our Academy ’04 boys team won all three group games at the Zaxby Cup in Pensacola, Florida. However the final became a game too far as they suffered an overtime loss to the Gulf Coast Texans by 1-2. It was a tough, hard fought final with the boys playing strong until the final minute but without reward. The ’06 team were also in attendance with a weakened squad suffering from some late withdrawals and injury. This young group showed plenty of character and team spirit playing every game to the fullest despite not being able to register a tournament win. It was a great lesson in how to stand tall, play through adversity and come out with pride intact.
