Atlanta, Ga.  –  The 2005 Academy team were the only boys group in play over the Labor Day Weekend. They took the long trip east to compete in the Publix Atlanta Cup. There was some very stiff opposition and the four group teams all beat each other up with no outstanding team winning all three games. The ’05’s were close to making the final but could not turn a 3-3 tie into a win which could have done it. Despite losing the opening game they bounced back with a win in game two but needed the win in game three to advance. Once again it was another highly competitive tournament and the boys will have learned much from the experience. Coaches Romar Smith and Cruz Rangel were in charge of the team.
