The Oakes, Miss. –  Southern States Soccer’s ‘The Academy’ and Player Development Centers kicked-off their 2017-18 seasonal year with their unique style SuperWeekend in Hattiesburg, Mississippi last weekend and regular midweek practices begin again today and throughout the week. Next weekend will be another SuperWeekend, this time in Birmingham, Alabama.

Following on the success of last year ‘The Academy’ will run eight boys teams in the 2001-2008 age groups. The PDC’s will have three girls teams. Southern States Soccer has doubled the number of teams and players over the first full year of operation.

Our training base at The Oakes is preparing to lay turf for the artificial all-weather surface which should be ready for play by early September. Floodlights are also being installed. A second grass field is being graded and prepared but will not be completed until the spring growing season.
