Jackson, Miss. –   The Academy sent our 2009 and 2011 age group teams up to the Mississippi Rush Spring Classic Tournament in Jackson this weekend. As usual, the teams were assembled using bio-banding with the ’09’s including four 2011 players in the team. Despite this, the 2011 team still finished runners-up in their division. They included three 2012 age players playing up, and a PDC player stepping up.

Star of the moments for the 2011 team was goalkeeper Chris Cruz who saved a penalty kick to help win the penalty-kick shootout in the final against the hosts, Mississippi Rush.
