Our Team Can Help Your Team Succeed

Southern States Soccer's 'The Academy' program can help your team succeed. Why? Because we produce players ready for college both on and off the field. We provide a comprehensive training program that develops players first.

Creating the Future

Our 'Player Pathway' is a day-by-day, week-by-week, month-by-month, year-on-year development program. We use micro and macro cycles for a more holistic approach to training and preparation for college.

We prefer to be talent creators, not talent collectors. Yet it's not surprising that when you produce talented players, you eventually produce a talented team. We trust the process.

A First: 2001 Team Graduate #51 Antonio 'Manny' Mendez

2019: Antonio Mendez created a little bit of Southern States Soccer history. The left-winger known better as 'Manny' of our 2001 age group team has become the first Academy graduate to attend college on a soccer scholarship. He will fulfill a dream this summer when he heads off to England for his next amazing soccer experience. The senior from Birmingham, Alabama will join up with RIASA in Leeds, Yorkshire as a part of their Academy U19 team while studying sports management. The opportunity will allow Manny to continue his dream toward becoming a professional player as well as continuing his further education.

Manny won our Most Improved Player award last year and also received a scholarship offer from RIASA. He is excited to be setting out on his new adventure. Everyone at Southern States Soccer and 'The Academy' wish Manny the very best of luck.

UPDATE 2020: Manny returned home this summer due to the Covid-19 crisis but was able to join us and play regularly on our NPSL U19 pilot team before returning to Leeds again.

Our 2020 Graduates

MIGUEL AGUIRE Left full-back/central defender
GPA:
3.9 (out of 4.0)
Class Rank:
17 / 216
ACT Score:
23

My Comments: Miguel is a great kid as all these players are. He is athletic, strong and quick. He has a good left foot and strikes the ball well.
He is a strong defender and overlaps and crosses accurately from the full-back position.
He should certainly interest a competitive D2/NAIA program or a mid-level D1 school. His grades and likely ACT score also make him a candidate for D3.
He is interested in majoring in biology.
