Daphne, Alabama –  Southern States Soccer took three boys teams and a girls team to Daphne, Alabama for the Eastern Shore Cup. The 04/05 girls team took the championship trophy with a 3-0 win in the final over the Mississippi Reign, The girls won both their group games without conceding a goal. Anna Marie Harrington was named the tournament MVP.

The 2011 boys team with 2012 and 2013 players stepping up, played extremely well winning the event with three wins out of three games and taking home the Style of Play Award. Brennan Banks won the Player of the Tournament award.

Although the 2009 team co

uldn’t emulate the younger team they still played well considering they had a number of 2010 and 2011 players, playing up. Blake Harris was still able to win the Player of the Tournament award for his performances all weekend.

A young and mostly 2007/08 PDC team playing up in the 2005 bracket gave an excellent showing under coach Tony Marriel. These boys continue to improve as they are tested in tournament play. All in all, it was another constructive weekend for these players as they continue in their development.
