Ocean Springs, Miss. – Two Academy teams and a PDC team spent the weekend on the Gulf Coast taking part in the South Mississippi Soccer Club’s Mardi Gras tournament. The PDC team took the winners medal in their 2011 age group division, our first ever PDC championship. “The boys did a tremendous job and deserved the title. They have written a little bit of Southern States Soccer history today”, said coach Tony Marriel. The 2009 Academy team with four 2011 aged kids playing up, took their division’s championship medal. The youngest Academy team, the 2012’s, included three new additions from our Pre-Academy program who had moved up for their first event. Despite the lack of experience in this team they still managed to go 1-2 over the weekend. It was overall, a very successful event for all our players individually and the teams overall.
