Our 2003 boys defeated the MLS Atlanta United DA team by 4-3 at the Publix Cup in Atlanta last weekend. With the win the team advanced to the semi-final game. The boys led 2-0 at half-time before being pegged back to 2-2 but finished strong to lead 4-2 and held on for the win despite a late Atlanta late third. It was a tremendous performance and a deserved victory for the team.
The boys found the older 2002 South Carolina team too strong and physical and were unable to make it to the final. It was a wonderful event matching the 03’s with such strong competition.
