Birmingham, Ala –  ‘The Academy teams who attended the BUSA Diamond Cup tournament this past weekend had a very successful time. The ’02’s playing up in the ’01 bracket won all their games with a penalty-kick shoot-out win over Alabama Elite 01 in the final after a 2-2 regulation time tie.

The ’03’s stormed over their opponents winning all games by clear margins including a 4-0 final victory. The ’05’s were without a few of their regular starters and were playing ’06’s and one ’07 up in their age group. It was a tough weekend but they were able to defeat Baton Rouge to move into the semi-finals before losing out. Despite the single win and two defeats the youngsters showed plenty of promise and continued to play hard and learn from the game experiences. Coach Carl Reynolds was extremely proud of the team giving them high praise for their efforts.
