The Oakes Training Center, Oak Grove, Miss. –

Southern States SC completed three nights of tryouts for the new Under-19 team this week.

The team will play an 8 game season in the National Premier Soccer League’ pilot program. In effect, the U-19’s will be the reserve team of the newly formed NPSL minor league team due to begin play in May of 2001.

Coach Carl Reynolds and his assistants monitored and evaluated the players in practice sessions and games. The squad is expected to be finalized over the weekend and announced early next week.
